Our off road adventure group met at the entrance to “Firebreak 5“.  This is a well traveled trail as it is the first in a large network of trails in Tillamook State Forest.

One of the first obstacles we encountered is a rocky section that will challenge most vehicles.  Our trucks made it through without damaged with some careful spotting.  The top section of the trail has a tight turn with a large boulder and trees on either side.  We all took different routes around the obstacle and made it through without damage.

The next part of trail has a rock crawl section to challenge vehicles with high clearance and large tires.  I played in the rocks for a bit and then proceeded to the final section of Firebreak 5.  This trail has been rerouted and is extremely tight as it winds through the trees.  There are several turns where the side of the truck was within inches of rubbing against the trees.

Saddle Up” was the next trail we took which was very steep and rocky.  This trail always generates some pucker factor as you slide down it.   “Acher’s Firebreak” was the final trail for the day.  We drove down the “Rocky Uphill” section which was moderately steep and full of large rocks and obstacles.  After we had completed that trail Andrew’s Tacoma had some engine sensor issues so Andrew and Paul decided to head back home.

Jason & I found one last trail to explore; it was a crazy steep, rutted road.  Jason nearly made it to the top of the trail but lost traction and had to carefully back down.

It was great to meet you Paul and 4wheel with you Andrew.  Big thanks to Jason for putting together the video!!!
