I got a question.  On other forums, and even our old one when you clicked on the link (or a seperate button) you would be taken automatically to the the new posts in the threads.  Why doesn't that happen here?  Is it possible to achieve such magic?

Yes.  You can do that on this forum.

Idea  Here's how:  You'll notice the forum containing new posts as a red icon.  Open the forum.  You'll notice at the right it will show who posted the latest.  Click on the green arrow beside the latest poster name.  That will drop you to the newest post.

The gallery isn't active. The pictures are on the server but can't browse them currently.  I also have them on my computer.

It seams that not too many people came over from the old site… Is there anyway you could send a message to all the old users Peter so they know its here and can sign up?  If they just don't have an interest in coming over any ideas on how we can increase the members back up to a number they were at before?  It'd be nice to get some more people going on wheeling trips.

Welcome!  Backyard

Yes.  I could send out a notice to all the old forum members.  Although, it wasn't very active.  This will grow.  It's all about inviting people you meet.  Plus, I'd much rather have good people here than some of the trouble makers (like on Pirate).

Another way to increase members is to write articles about your mods.  Use the “Submit Artile” link at the top of the website.  More and more people are finding this site through google.  I have had 133 people read my BFG KM2 tire review from google so far.  MrGreen

I'd like to get more article specifically in the “trails” section.  It would be nice to have documented information on all the great off road destinations in the NW.  Then people searching google for off road trails will come and hopefully join us on our upcoming events.  PFFT

Feedback:

How many articles should be displayed on the home page?  I've had it set to load the past 5 articles.  I just changed it to the latest article.  What is your thoughts and feedback?

can you have it just show a snippet of the last 5 articles and then you have to click further to read the whole article?

Yes, I can do that.  Do you think that would be better than seeing the latest article on the home page?

I'm not sure… its nice to see the latest article on the main page… can you have the whole main first article then maybe the next three as snippets?  Or maybe with the related post thing at the bottom that would be enough.

I like that idea. That way the latest article is easily available but you still get a teaser for other articles. Very nice. kewl

That's a great idea.  It would be good to create a new home page.  Now to set asside some time to work on it. Cyclops

Peter, glad to see Gitout still up and going! It has been atleast 3 years. I am back in the PDX area (Hillsboro). I still have the Trooper but it needs some TLC to get it back to where it was. Joe/Kary/Carl ever come around anymore?

Hey Brandon -

Welcome back!  It would be fun to get a trip together…  Joe has a Rodeo but hasn't taken it out much.  Karl sold his last rig (4runner).  Kary has issues with me from forever ago (don't remember why).  It would be fun to get together.  What have you been up to?  What does your trooper need?

Just working, raising a kid, the usual life stuff.

Trooper needs a battery first off. My Optima red top finally gave up after 7 years of service. After that I need to give it a good cleaning, some minor fixes (Fan shroud), and then I should tackle the rust. Two years in Utah def had a toll on the poor rig.
